Dr. Zhang’s research fields include phytochemical analysis of traditional Chinese medicines by modern instruments together with chemometric methods and the application of nanomaterials in analytical chemistry. His team has also discovered several nucleotide biomarkers and mechanism based combination therapy strategies for overcoming nucleotide analogs resistance for targeted therapies. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed SCI journals including Science Translational Medicine, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemical Pharmacology, Analyst, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analytica Chimica Acta, Talanta, Advanced Energy Materials and etc. Dr. Zhang obtained 6 Australia patents with the works related to the discovery of novel nucleotide biomarkers, novel nucleoside analogue enhancer for treatment of cancer and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Section 2: Research Interests and Grants

His research fields include the application of nanomaterials in analytical chemistry and energy storage, the use of chemometrics methods to deal with all steps of analytical procedures, phytochemical analysis.
